🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure Regarding Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Required Changes A different user, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
